Animal tables and full charts
The zodiac connects the year branch with one of twelve animals. It offers a broad reference for folk traditions, gifts and general relationship themes. Two animals supply two year branches, not the month, day, hour and stem information in complete charts.
A BaZi comparison may discuss Day Masters, day branches, element relationships and timing, with emphasis varying by method. Calling compatible animals a complete chart match, or incompatible animals a prohibition on a relationship, skips those other layers.
The Six Combinations
The Six Combinations pair the twelve branches as below. The table explains a traditional term; it does not make every pair of people represented by the animals automatically harmonious. A personal discussion needs additional information and context.

Branch relationships can also occur in months, days, hours or timing layers. An animal-year table is a simplified presentation, while the same pair in a fuller chart needs its positions and other relationships considered.

The Three Combinations and familiar pair questions
The common groups are Shen–Zi–Chen, Hai–Mao–Wei, Yin–Wu–Xu and Si–You–Chou: Monkey–Rat–Dragon, Pig–Rabbit–Goat, Tiger–Horse–Dog and Snake–Rooster–Ox. Traditional analysis distinguishes a complete group from only two of its members, rather than treating every case as the same structure.
Rooster and Snake belong to one three-branch group, explaining why many compatibility tables associate them. Tiger and Horse belong to another. The grouping alone does not establish success in marriage, business or communication.
If only birth years are known, such as 1984 and 1993, first clarify early-year birthdays and the zodiac boundary being used. A Gregorian year number does not unconditionally identify one animal from January 1 onward.
A clash is not a relationship verdict
The common Six Clashes pair Rat–Horse, Ox–Goat, Tiger–Monkey, Rabbit–Rooster, Dragon–Dog and Snake–Pig. Traditional readings associate clash relationships with change or tension, while their role depends on the wider chart.

Different rhythms, communication styles and life plans are real topics that people can discuss. An animal label cannot replace knowledge of behavior, commitments and shared aims, or decide a major relationship choice on someone’s behalf.
A combination likewise does not mean there are no differences to work through. The traditional table is useful for understanding vocabulary without bringing the actual conversation between people to an end.
What a fuller comparison considers
A personal comparison commonly requires both birth dates, times, places and calendar information. It may examine Day Masters, day branches, relationship patterns and the period in question. There is no single automatic total score shared by every school; a percentage needs its definition explained.
If one hour is unknown, state that some information is missing. Do not turn a default time into two equally complete charts, or substitute an animal table while claiming it offers the same depth.
Work and business relationships also involve roles, aims, finances and communication. A traditional comparison may provide a cultural discussion background, while those practical conditions still need their own attention.
Work and partnership ask different questions
A personal relationship concerns companionship and shared life, while work also involves skills, roles, decision-making, timing and responsibility. If traditional compatibility interests the partners, their actual working conditions still make the discussion relevant.
For example, a person developing ideas and another delivering them need clear goals, handovers and feedback. Sharing an animal group does not answer those practical questions. Zodiac stories can open a conversation, while cooperation develops through explicit agreements and actual performance over time.
Gifts for partners and family
Two people can choose matching designs or different materials for a shared wish. Harmony does not require identical bead colors and diameters; each person can retain a suitable wrist fit and wearing preference.
Rose quartz and moonstone designs offer ready-to-wear affinity themes. A personal BaZi composition can consider each person’s information and favorable elements. The gift expresses care without requiring an unsupported relationship score.
Questions & answers
Are Rooster and Snake a Six Combination pair?
No. They belong to the Snake–Rooster–Ox Three Combination group. Six Combinations and Three Combinations are different relationship terms.
Are Tiger and Horse automatically suitable for marriage?
They belong to the Tiger–Horse–Dog group, but animal relationships do not independently determine marriage. Personal information and actual interaction remain separate considerations.
Do all people sharing an animal have the same compatibility?
No. A shared year branch does not make their complete charts, experiences or relationships identical.
